ÖTILLÖ Swimrun Engadin 2020
The ÖTILLÖ (Swedish for "from island to island") Swimrun Engadin 2020 took place over two days. The first day with the races "Experience" and "Sprint" and the second day with the "World Series". The aim of the competitions is to cover a given route with running and swimming sections.
The World Series and especially the World Championship in Sweden is rated by CNN as one of the toughest one-day competitions ever. To save time for changing clothes, the athletes run while wearing wetsuits and swim with shoes. Paddles and pull buoys make up for this disadvantage while swimming. In the World Series, you can only participate as a team of two and may not be more than 10 meters apart during the competition. A tow rope can be used on some sections, which can, of course, be particularly useful when swimming.
I took the photos on behalf of the organizer. They are presented in chronological order.
